Food Bank Support at GCC and Beyond
In Colorado, $120 million in SNAP Benefits is allocated monthly to 614,000 residents: 50% are children, 10% over the age of 65, and 15% living with disabilities. In Jefferson County, 1 in 13 residents already face food insecurity.
To help, the City of Golden and Hunger Free Golden need your help. Please consider donating non-perishable items such as:
Canned or boxed soups, chilis, etc.
Precooked rice meals (Knorr sides, Ben’s Original, etc.)
Canned vegetables, fruit, and beans
Tuna (cans or pouches)
Nut butters & jams
Pasta & Sauces (spaghetti, macaroni, tomato sauce, etc.)
Pantry snacks (crackers, cookies, granola bars)
Cereal products (oatmeal, granola, cereal, etc.)
Local food pantries have already seen a 40% increase in people accessing help this year, and with anticipated demand in the coming weeks, they also need monetary donations, gift cards for food and gas, and volunteers.
